Vehicle Description
The fact that this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle has come through the
years in such solid condition is a pretty persuasive selling point
on its own, but it's done so not only with its original colors
displayed both inside and out, but also with its numbers matching
powerplant still getting it done with ease from under the hood.
This classic is not only an obvious conversation piece, but also a
very strong driver.
Draped in the same Mojave Gold shade it debuted with looking sharp
and fresh while ornamented by a pair of broad white stripes running
down the length of its sculpted cowl hood, this Chevy classic has
curb appeal in abundance. The color itself provides such a
distinctive appearance - despite its authentic, factory origins,
it's got a definite aftermarket sensibility that's amplified by its
nice, deep shine. Clean, unblemished chrome surrounds the clear
glass on all four sides of the cabin and both the front and rear
bumpers appear to be level and in good shape. Take a lap around and
you'll also see that the exterior alignment is in good stead - the
body panels blend together well and the gaps surrounding the hood,
doors and deck lid are nice and even. While the traditional Chevy
badging of the era remains in place in both front and back, it's
been removed from the sides - all the better to allow that
distinctive gold shade to work its magic.
The light tan of the interior is the perfect complement to the high
impact gold on display outside. This is a very sharp looking
vintage driving environment, showing only the most minor of wear
with no issues to detract from its impact anywhere in sight. The
split bench seat up front wears a fresh and well fitted cover and
the added console at its center really comes in handy, with a set
of cupholders and some welcome interior storage space. Below, the
carpet's spot-free condition suggests it was only recently added,
and the headliner above and the door panels at the sides are in
downright great condition. Just in front of the GM Comfort Grip
steering wheel, the dash area is another high point - it remains in
largely stock configuration, is in fine shape and now sports a Sony
AM/FM/DVD system with Sirius connectivity at its center, so
there'll be quite an array of audio options at your disposal. The
air conditioning is blowing cold and strong and has been updated to
modern 134a refrigerant.
A look below the hood provides more confirmation that this is a
well-maintained classic - every belt and hose seems nearly new. At
the center of the compartment is the original 350 cubic inch V8.
Internally, the engine remains authentically bone stock and is
running strong - it now wears an Edelbrock intake manifold and
4-barrel carb on top for some added gusto and is accompanied by
both an upgraded HEI ignition for a hotter available spark, as well
as a Champion aluminum radiator for improved temperature control.
Chevelles of this era already featured coil springs in back for a
quieter ride and no binding around corners and the 3-speed
automatic TH350 transmission on this one is shifting smoothly and
precisely for a very solid driving experience that's rounded out by
power steering for easy handling, as well as power brakes that
bring this classic's set of 15" American Racing Torq Thrust wheels
to quick, dependable stops.
Sporting an impressive level of originality that comes at no
sacrifice to its rock solid running condition, this 1972 Chevrolet
Chevelle would be a great acquisition for the Chevy enthusiast
looking for a strong driving classic. Call today!
