1970 LOTUS EUROPA S2.
This particular car was taken in as partial trade from one of our project kit car clients. After full inspection we found it to be worthy of putting some time into making it right to be driven with confidence.
As S2 Europa's go this one is in above average condition with no major chassis/suspension/body issues. Based on the information we have gathered car was driven until 2000 there after it was in storage with several car dealers before our client purchased it in Ca.
The following is a list of work that was performed by us.
Removed both doors repair cracked fiberglass hard points, replaced door pins/bushing kits. Also repaired cracked external door handle openings / lock /latch assembly, incorporating our custom reinforcement galvanized steel panel to secure handle and lock / striker assembly adding integrity to a very bad design, all power window motors / regulators serviced,
Inspect all instrumentation, clean contacts making sure all working correctly, Fuel sending unit was replaced due to excessive rust in fuel tank, drain /flush tank replace sending unit, install fuel filter (all good now) remove speedo cable and lubricate drive at head and at trans, pressure check cooling system and fan operation (all good) change oil / filter startup run and check engine compression (Cold 135-140 ) (Hot 145-150) Rebuild brake master cylinder,replace rear wheel cylinders bleed and flush hydraulic system inspect front calipers / rotors ( no issues)
Rebuild brake master,flush and bleed hydraulic system modify brake/ clutch pedal spacing side to side providing additional room for larger feet also relocate brake /gas for proper heal and toe setting, adjust and check shifter assembly replace worn joint, transmission "very good" no syncro or selector issues.
Moving forward from this point on the car will need only T.L.C
