documents With its straight lines and masculine, muscular stance,
this Kaiser-Jeep Gladiator Townside Half-ton 4x4 pickup is in stark
relief to modern pickups. This truck spent a chunk of its existence
in Montana before it arrived at MotoeXotica Classic Cars. The
previous owner has loved this truck over the past 17 years, since
2002! When was the last time you saw one? Built in Toledo, Ohio,
this Jeep is finished in President Red (code 226) and the paint and
trim are in overall very good condition. The truck's bodywork is
straight and solid, the engine bay looks great, as does the cargo
bed. In that bed are four whitewall tires, size 235/75R15 complete
and original factory wheel covers. The truck's bumpers, including
its corrugated metal rear one, look great. As a touch of whimsy,
there are a set of bullhorns attached near the leading edge of the
hood. This truck rides on Goodyear Wranglers, size P245/75R17 and
mounted on American Racing vented alloy wheels. The wheels and
tires are in very good order. Under the hood is AMC's Hi-Torque 232
CID inline six-cylinder engine. Backing this motor is a Warner
four-speed manual transmission, a Dana 20 dual range transfer cases
and Dana full-floating 44 front and rear axles. It has a 120-inch
wheelbase and a GVWR of 5,000. Inside, this Jeep has a Rawhide
bench seat (code 241), which is in very favorable order. The
complementing black carpet in in good, original order, while the
matching Rawhide headliner is also in good, original condition. The
two-spoke steering wheel, instrument panel and inner door liners
are all in good, original shape. The Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Pickup or
J-series is a series of full-size pickup trucks based on the large
Jeep SJ (Wagoneer) platform, which was built and sold under
numerous marques from 1962 to 1988. The Jeep Gladiator / Pickup
design is noteworthy for remaining in production for more than 26
years on a single automobile platform generation. The Gladiator was
the basis of the first post-war U.S. Army trucks designed to be
civilian vehicles and adapted to military use. Documentation
includes envelope of assorted invoices and another envelope of
other documents. Competition to this Jeep in 1968 included
Chevrolet's K10 half-ton, Dodge's D-series 4x4, GMC's K1500
half-ton, Ford's F-150 4x4 and International's 900C-1500C trucks.
These Gladiator pickup trucks are classics and you probably
wouldn't see another one at a car show or cruise night event. If
