The sentiment in the classic car world right now seems to be trending towards, “give me something I can drive anywhere.” This oh-so-sweet 1955 Chevy 3100 is just that truck. It’s nicely updated, stanced just right, and you can actually enjoy yourself while you are driving it.
The custom built interior features a one-off seat, custom door panels, and matte painted dash. The gauges have been upgraded with Classic Instruments which fit in the factory gauge location. Keeping you cool is a Vintage Air system complete with ice cold air, and upgraded heater as well.
The exterior has been restored with new paint, new trim, new glass, all new rubber, and new chrome. The bed is done in oak with a clear finish and new stainless strips.
Power comes from a 327/300HP small block with a Weiand intake, Edelbrock carb, and Edelbrock heads. Exhaust flows through a set of headers and a 2” aluminized exhaust system with Flowmasters. The tranny is a 700R4 that mates to a 9” rear end.
The suspension is rebuilt and the front is updated with a Mustang II front end with rack and pinion and power. The truck has front disc, and rear drums attached to a 9” set up. The ride is smooth, and the stance, while much lower than factory maintains plenty of ground clearance.
