This 1959 BMW Isetta 300 is a four-wheel, left-hand drive a four-panel window configuration. It was purchased by the current owners at the Portland Swap Meet in the 1990’s. It served as a family car for the three-person family while the son was able to fit between the parents on the single bench seat. It was later used by the son on dates in high school. The current owners generally drove it sparingly and always kept it in a garage.
Body work, painting, and upholstery had been done by the previous owner. The previous owner had also given the car a new motorcycle engine backed by a new 4-speed transmission with reverse. No additional body work, painting, or upholstery since the car was acquired by the current owners. The current owners did, however, replace the engine with a 1950’s BMW Isetta engine.
The exterior is finished in black with tinted windows and a fabric sunroof. The interior is finished with and black fabric. It features an original steering wheel, dash, and gauge cluster, along with a radio and speakers added by the previous owner.
