Vehicle Description
1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Mongoose Replica. Motorcar
classics is proud to present this 1963 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe
Replica that was factory-built as a turnkey car by the respected
experts at Mongoose Motorsports. Chevrolets Grand Sport race cars
gained the Mongoose nickname on the track at Sebring, where they
trounced Shelbys Cobras. Mongoose Motorsports picked up on that
nickname for their meticulously engineered and hand-crafted
replicas. This is a fresh car with only 2,863 miles which benefits
from being registered as a 1963 Chevrolet. The Mongoose GS Coupe
Replica consists of a new fiberglass body with a custom chassis of
tubular design similar to the original Grand Sports. However, it
utilizes modern suspension and brakes from a C4 Corvette. While the
Mongoose can be built for street or track, this particular car
offers huge performance by virtue of its GM Performance Ramjet 502
CI V8 and user-friendly amenities including power windows, A/C and
stereo radio. Our Mongoose is featured in Cherry Red metallic with
Dove Grey interior and Arctic White stripes. The car comes with
three binders that are a photographic record of the build plus
documentation of all of the components which include Hedman
headers, Tremec TKO 6-speed gearbox, Lakewood bellhousing with
Centerforce clutch, Newman Car Creations differential, Vintage AC,
Auto Meter gauges, Sony stereo with Pioneer speakers, Flaming River
tilt steering column, and more. The Grand Sport was one of
Chevrolets most iconic racing cars, only five were built, making
them rarer than racing Cobras, and valued in the seven figures, if
one were to become available. This Mongoose is a fitting tribute
that you can drive and show today.
