Vehicle Description
STK 2582 1973 Jeep CJ5
Most of today's Jeeps have a fancy name and a huge sticker. In
1973, a base CJ-5 listed for just over $3,000.00 and was the
foundation for all of these new models. Back in those days the
option list was very brief - items such as a heater or a top. This
sharp CJ-5 Jeep has been restored back to better-than-original
condition. The solid body was refinished in Tuxedo Black (2017)
with a new bikini top, side doors, chrome front 'Bull Bar' and
chrome rear bumper w/spare tire rack. The interior is fitted with
reupholstered vinyl bucket seats w/belts, a rear bench seat, roll
bar, factory gauge package, logo mats and custom alloy spoke wheel.
During this era, the CJ-5 used various AMC powertrains. The owner
believes this engine to be the 258ci (4.2L) AMC Torque Command
straight-six. It was completely rebuilt in 2012 and is lightweight,
powerful and dependable. The Carter YF carburetor has been replaced
with a Weber unit and the ignition system has been converted to
electronic. A 3-speed manual transmission is mated to a 2wd/4wd,
Hi/Lo Dana 20 transfer case and manual front hubs. In 1973, the
factory front differentials were Dana 30 units and rears were Dana
44. A solid chassis retains stock leaf spring suspension w/upgraded
shocks, manual steering and manual 4-wheel drum brakes. American
Racing 15" alloys mount BFG All-Terrain T/A radials. This classic
CJ-5 has been carefully restored and it is ready to go. ALL
