Vehicle Description
1946 Ford Anglia Tourer. Produced in Australia, this rare 1946 Ford
Anglia A54A Tourer was originally purchased by a monastery in
Singapore, where it was used as the main conveyance for officials
traveling from Singapore into Malaysia. It was claimed that this
car was the second new vehicle to be brought to Singapore after
World War II. In 1979, it was eventually imported into the United
States. This car runs and is fun to drive. The motor runs really
well, and it shifts nicely. But in order to start the car, you have
to prime the carburetor, so it might need some choke work. The body
is in rough condition and shows plenty of body filler throughout.
It has mostly wooden floors but there is some rust in the floors.
And it looks like there was some welding done of the left/front
frame horn. The paint is dull and peeling in many areas. The
convertible top moves freely up and down. The car appears to be
nearly complete and not missing any of the vital parts. Although it
is missing both side mirrors and does not have any side curtains. A
collectible car that would make a fun restoration project or driven
as is. Please see pictures. Odometer reads: *3812. * The first
digit is not legible. Cannot verify the accuracy of the mileage.
