For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro in Collierville, Tennessee

Vehicle Description

The Camaro for 1969 introduced familiar drivetrains and mechanical components into an updated design that really spoke to buyers. And 1969 was a favorite year for the Z/28. Built to support GM's participation in the Trans Am racing series, the Z/28 is one of the most frequently kloned cars from the sixties. The 302ci v8 and performance suspension upgrades made it a serious competition contender. What could be better than the proven 302 with a Muncie 4-speed transmission, Hurst shifter, 12 bolt rear end and 11:1 compression? And this Z/28 is the real thing! A true X77 coded car built in Norwood, with the famous DZ code 302 block.

Finished in the correct and iconic hue of Hugger Orange with white stripes, this Z/28 is a real beauty. The paint was carefully sprayed then covered in protective layers of clear, sealing in the painted white stripes so you can enjoy the rich color for years to come. The bright work and chrome bumpers have been polished and are in excellent condition, with the stainless trim showing only minor imperfections. The body and sub-frame show to be in good shape with no visible signs of rust.

Mechanically, this Z/28 is excellent. We have road tested this one to ensure that it's turn-key ready. The solid lifter small block 302 fires to life with a single turn of the key. It has a deep tone with a decent amount of chop at idle giving it the distinct Z/28 sound. The gear shifts feel great going through a Muncie 4 speed. The clutch pedal feels as it should, grabbing each gear shift with plenty of bite. You will enjoy the quick ratio steering, making tight turns with ease and giving you more control at higher speeds. The power front brakes show to have little wear as we inspected them and road tested their great stopping power. And a set of raised white letter BF/Goodrich Radial T/As give the car brand-new shoes. Much wider than stock, they measure 235/60/15 all around.

The interior is in great condition showing to been replaced at the time of restoration, with great attention to detail. The rosewood steering wheel mounted on a tilt column is smooth to the touch, showing no signs of wear or marks. The brushed aluminium spokes are bright and show no markings or wear. The dash with rosewood wood trim shows to be in great condition with no signs of aging or wear. The door panels are in good condition showing no signs of excessive wear. The carpet was replaced with new at the time of restoration showing minimal wear. Starting with a solid frame then covered in a high quality black vinyl, the sport bucket seat are in good condition showing no excessive wear. The headliner is in great condition and fitted with care. A factory appearing radio hides the digital internals giving you a clearer sound with both AM and FM options.

As presented in the photos, this 1969 Z/28 is a strong, rust-free car. All of the hoses are in good condition showing no cracks or excessive wear. The coolant system is in good working condition with no signs of leaks. The fan and fan shroud are in excellent condition showing no cracks or wear. The drive belts are in good condition showing no excessive wear. The engine oil was changed along with a new oil filter and is working as it should with no leaks. The brakes are in good working condition and show a lot of life left in the pads and rotors. All of the lights and turn signals work as they should with no fading of the lenses. The weather stripping is in good condition showing no cracks or tears. The hood, doors and trunk all close with a solid feel to them as they should. The radio and all gauges are in great condition with clear dials working as they should. The heater and fan are in good condition and operate as they should.
