This 1959 TR3A is in excellent condition, runs strong and has no rust. It underwent a full restoration by the previous owner in the mid 1990s and has been lovingly driven, maintained and stored ever since. It’s painted Signal Red with a black interior and silver painted wire wheels.
The engine was upgraded to a TR4 2138 cc, 105 bhp, inline 4 cylinder with twin SU carburetors. It’s mated to an original 4-speed TR3 transmission. Additional upgrades to make driving more enjoyable and reliable include an alternator/negative ground conversion, electric puller fan, hi-torque starter motor, and an uprated water pump. Most of the modifications are reversible if so desired. The original generator, starter and mechanical fan are included in the sale. Many extra parts are also included.
The car comes with a like-new convertible top, hood sticks cover, tonneau cover, side curtains, side curtains bag, driving lamps, badge bar, head lamp stone guards, tools, service books and a pair of Brooklands racing screens. (See photo)
This TR3 is being sold by the current owner who has enjoyed it for 15 years, driving it approximately 10,000 miles locally for seasonal car club tours. Since restoration, it has spent its entire non-road life in a climate controlled garage.
