For Sale: 1967 AMC Rebel in Jamestown, New York

Vehicle Description

1967 Rebel SST Hardtop, 290 V-8, Auto.  Control Freak suspension & disc brake upgrade.  Original A/C car with equipment removed and in storage.  The car is in great unrestored condition, it's straight and tight.  It would be easy to finish to show level or just keep cruising as is .  I lost all my available time and space to continue work on this vehicle so it's time for a new home. Most people can see the resemblance to the 1968 Roadrunner, but AMC came out with this design a year earlier.  And at a better price point today, with more upside potential tomorrow.

THE BAD: Car is very clean and 90% rust free, but problem spots include above the rear window.  I removed and stored the trim around the window (I have all the original trim for this car) to evaluate the spot, then temporarily ran black duct tape around the open seams...and it's been that way for the past 6 seasons!  See photos.  Trunk floor is also rusty with some through holes but repairable in my estimation, and the rear quarters have an amateur patch job.  Carpet has been removed, front seats have some rips.  I've been amazed at the amount of positive feedback I get at shows, cruises, and just out on the street with people loving the unrestored patina look of this car.

THE GOOD: Aside from what I've already mentioned, I've updated to a Pertronix ignition, 4bbl Javelin intake and Holley carb., home brewed exhaust H-pipe and dual pipes which sound great, and lots of other TLC things like a high output alternator, new fuel sending unit, Carter fuel pump & new OEM steel lines, heater valve, wiper fluid bag, the list goes on.

THE WOW!  Biggest upgrade is new Control Freak suspension front and rear, the front IFS has power discs and a Flaming River manual rack (easy switch to a power rack, and I have the rebuilt original power steering pump), the rear has tubular adjustable 4 bars, and all 4 corners have coil overs with adjustable QA1 shocks and poly bushings (see photos).  The new front cradle, brakes, rear set up, powder coating, and Canton Racing oil pan would cost you over $7K today.

THE PARTS:  Car also comes with a 343 V-8 long block ready for rebuild, trans bellhousing adapter from AMC to GM, 4 original 14" tires and rims, extra sill plates, dash inset, tail light, and a few other nick-nacks.
