Vehicle Description
Start with a modern, well-respected hot hatchback that is popular
all over the world for its quickness, agility, and style. Then add
some performance upgrades to it. Then add some more. Then go wild
and turn up it's appearance, but make sure it's vivid enough to be
seen a block away. Finally, throw whatever caution is left straight
into the wind and transform that 2015 Volkswagen GTI into a
full-blown, Pandem Rocket Bunny that deserves its own Instagram
account after turning so many heads at SEMA. The result is this
stunning 2015 Volkswagen GTI Rocket Bunny.
Kei Miura's aero body kits are renowned globally not only for their
beautiful design, but also for the quality of their unique
craftsmanship. Quite simply, if you want to augment your car with a
wide-body kit, a Rocket Bunny/Pandem aero with all its accessories
is the best way to go. This 2015 GTI was already a beautiful and
aggressive vehicle to start with but has been further enhanced with
its new wide-body presence and add-ons like the Euro GTD grille,
Golf rear valance, rear diffuser, Golf R headlights, and MK7.5
taillights. Not to mention that loud, high-impact color scheme
which was expertly applied: first by laying down vinyl decals to
achieve that 3D-block effect and then covered in a Pearls and
Pigments plasti-dip style wrap/coating that has a deep lustered
finish and wicked shine. The slicktop roof is covered in a vinyl
wrap that provides a sophisticated contrast to the tuner-green
body, and all those gold decals and stickers on the rear windows
let everyone know that top brands and speed shops either lent a
hand in the construction of this beauty (with parts and/or
service), or just wanted badly for their logos to be associated
with this build. And could you really blame them? The attention
this GTI received at SEMA and Slammedenuff alone is enough to cover
the cost of a sponsorship. Wrapping up the aggressive look are
stunning Vossen LC109T wheels, finished in Imperial Gold and tucked
in perfectly into the wheel wells.
The interior is more GTI than it is tuner, but a few welcomed
performance mods have been added as well. The original front
buckets were swapped for black sporty Sparco R333 seats and mounts,
providing the driver and front passenger added support through the
corners (Spoiler alert: you will not take corners slowly, this car
eats them up and spits them out without breaking a sweat). A
quick-disconnect Nardi steering wheel now controls the cockpit
(original wheel included with sale), a Cobb shift knob handles the
short-throw gear changes, and a P3 adjustable vent gauge is a
supercool gadget addition that currently shows accurate boost and
vacuum readings. No more gaudy A-pillar obtrusiveness! The back
seat is still stock and in virtually untouched condition,
highlighted by the iconic GTI plaid inserts and red piping.
Although the sweet symphony the engine and exhaust create is enough
music most of the time, a fantastic stereo system was installed as
well. This import was Sony's featured show car at their booth for
SEMA 2016, so as a "thank you" they provided some of their best car
stereo equipment, including a touch screen head unit, amplifiers,
and High Res speakers. The back-hatch area is beautifully arranged
for show with stereo equipment and air compressors, all highlighted
by the same LED lighting found throughout the cabin.
Now on to the best part: the performance. A 2015 GTI comes with an
already formidable 2.0L four-cylinder turbo, but like pretty much
everything else in this Rocket Bunny, the drivetrain has been
turned up to 11, thanks in large part to the pros at BMP Tuning.
There's not enough room to cover everything here, but some of the
upgraded mechanicals include an APR Stage 2 tune, APR carbon-fiber
intake, Forge Motorsports Twintercooler and cooling hose kit, CTS
Turbo blow-off, and a CTS Turbo downpipe to name a few. Kustomz
Unlimited provided the custom cat-back exhaust that delivers an
unmistakable soundtrack at both idle and high revolutions.
Switching gears through the 6-speed manual transmission is a quick
trip thanks to the CTS Turbo short-shift kit, and should you ever
want to quickly stop this smoke-show on wheels, Audi TT RS front
disc brakes (rear disc brakes are stock GTI-spec) with StopTech
pads and lines do a superb job. In place of the stock suspension is
an Air Lift Performance strut setup that works in concert with a 3H
Management air-ride that controls the ride height, allowing for the
driver to go from slammed to ride-ready in moments. Finishing the
look are those aforementioned 20-inch gold Vossen wheels, wrapped
in 275/30ZR/20 (front) and 305/30ZR/20 (rear) performance
radials.
With only 18,244 miles on the clock, this professionally built
Rocket Bunny is just beginning its trophy-winning,
asphalt-devouring life. $40k invested in parts alone, a strong
social media presence, and this tuner is already more famous than
most C-list celebrities. Wouldn't you like to be the one to take it
to primetime? Call today!
