For Sale: 2017 Superformance Cobra in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Historically, Cobras were built with a singular focus. They were designed to get around a track as fast as possible without breaking anything in the process. But, as the Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, "Everything changes, and nothing stands still". These days, Cobras have evolved to not only be great track cars, but also great investments, storied show cars and exceptionally fun cruisers. Speaking of fun, show worthy classics that can still kick asphalt at the track, check out this fully sorted, one-owner Superformance Mk III. Since you can already see the car's charming aesthetics, and you already know that Superformance builds the only Shelby-licensed Cobra replica on the market, the show and go parts of the equation are obvious. What isn't so obvious is 511 cubic inches of professionally built Shelby V8, a tough Tremec 5-speed and $24,475 worth of Voss Performance upgrades that make the car an excellent companion for cruising. Looking for a top-notch Cobra that's ready to rock and roll? Look no further than this little piece of Guardsman Blue glory!

SUPERPEARANCE

Superformance has always prided themselves in providing exceptional re-creations of exceptional classics. The firm's GT40 replicas are so accurate that, in addition to being legally allowed to use the GT40 name, they're eligible for inclusion in the official GT40 Registry. Naturally, that same mindset applies to the firm's Mk II and Mk III roadsters. This Mk III's sublime body utilizes high quality, hand-laminated fiberglass to create a rock-solid drop-top that provides a first-rate driving experience. Those stiffly reinforced panels reflect ceramic-coated Guardsman Blue 2-stage under silky Wimbledon White stripes. And overall, this Shelby's timeless combination of killer style, serious performance and contemporary build techniques creates an irresistible curve carver that'll keep onlookers marveling!

Traditional pigment is only part of this beast's uncanny allure. The car's acute build, supplemented with $24,475 worth of upgrades from Placentia, California's Voss Performance, simply nails the details! Up front, a polished Nudge Bar protects silver grilles, clear parking lamps and stainless-trimmed halogen headlights. A small hood anchors an integrated scoop in front of locking latches, polished wipers and a stainless-trimmed windscreen that's dressed in tinted visors and clear wings. Behind that screen, a tight tonneau stretches between polished mirrors and a polished roll bar. Those bullet-style mirrors reflect stainless Firefly Performance side-pipes, which, were it not for their professional ceramic-coating, would reflect polished heat extractors, colorful Cobra emblems and Voss-installed quarter chaps. And at the back of the car, a Cobra-branded trunk locks between traditional taillights, a polished, Monza-style fuel filler and a polished oval bumper.

SHELBY POWER

Tilt this roadster's lightweight hood and you'll find 511 cubic inches of proven Shelby heat that twists 598 dyno-proven horsepower into 610 lb./ft. of blur-inducing torque! At the top of the alloy engine, eight polished stacks make excellent use of FAST electronic fuel injection. Those stacks feed a polished intake, which is bolted to lightweight aluminum heads that are dressed in traditional Cobra Le Mans valve covers. Opposite those lids, a Comp hydraulic roller cam spins between H-beam rods, Diamond Racing pistons and a forged 4340 crank. Fire is provided by an MSD Blaster SS coil, which is connected to a hot MSD distributor and loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Cooling comes courtesy of a polished Edelbrock water pump, which, with the help of a beefy radiator, circulates water around a polished expansion tank and four electric fans. Ceramic-coated headers jettison spent gases in to 2.5-inch side-pipes. And at the front of the block, polished Concept One pulleys front a polished Powermaster alternator. Aesthetically, the big mill, professionally assembled by Craft Performance Engines of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, looks right at home against a polished firewall. And well-planned details, like stainless guards, braided fluid lines and polished Wilwood brake reservoirs, are both functional and appealing.

CLEAN AND CAPABLE

Fully sorted and ready to roll, this roadster's Superformance heavy wall Jig-welded frame and fully independent suspension are primed for cruising or sprinting. The big engine spins its big power through a Quick Time-cased Tremec TKO600 5-speed, which makes excellent use of brass synchros, carbon fiber lining, a bronze shift fork pad and a tough McLeod flywheel. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Solid stops are provided by power-assisted Wilwood calipers, which clamp four vented discs. Torque meets the tarmac through attractive knock-offs, which twist Goodyear-stenciled Avons to the tune of 245/60R15 and 295/50R15. And details like a removable crossmember, a Moroso deep-sump oil pan and custom Voss sway bars round out an otherwise impressive build.

LEATHER AND FRESH AIR

Cobra interiors have always been stylish and simple, and one look inside this roadster reveals just how serious the car's aspirations are when it comes to being driver-focused. Leather-wrapped buckets stretch tight hides under sturdy Crow Enterprizes belts. In front of those seats, a leather-wrapped dash hangs a clean combination of Smiths and Lucas telemetry between a locking glovebox and metal "AC" foot pedals. Below that dash, clean carpet centers a billet shifter between a polished fire extinguisher, a polished handbrake and colorful, Cobra-themed floor mats. The driver spins a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel. And the passengers stow cargo in a fully finished trunk.

A track-bred Cobra that's civil enough to parade down Main Street, who says you can't have your cake and eat it too? Don't miss your opportunity to own this spectacular Superformance roadster!
