What is a hot rod? Well it's when you build a car and the main
objective is that it looks cool, then you install way more motor
then needed. This does both- a chopped, fenderless 32 coupe with a
big block! But this one doesn't just look cool, it was built to
cruise. Only 8,400 miles total since built. The guy I bought it
from took the car apart 1,200 miles ago and redid it. Show quality
painted, new upholstery and a bunch more. It looks new.
EXTERIOR: It's a Rat's Glass body. Don't think it's white to hide
flaws, the finish is like glass. I talked to the painter and he
block sanded the heck out of the body. It's so straight most people
think it's steel. I did not see any cracks or chips, it looks new.
It has some classic features like original style door handles,
stainless taillights and headlights, a 32 grill shell and a chrome
windshield frame. I love the old school hot rod tires and wheels.
15x4 aluminum spokes in front with Firestone polyester tires. In
back it has 15x10 slotted wheels with street slicks. Tires and
wheels are brand new. All new smoked glass.
INTERIOR: Very rich chocolate brown upholstery with diamond pattern
like you see in high end luxury cars. The interior work was
professionally done, all of the upholstery fits perfectly. Seat
slides way back, I'm 6 foot and had extra room. It has power
windows, polished tilt column, Lokar floor shifter. Clean dash area
with a matched set of Dolphin gauges. There's a battery shut off
behind the seat.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: How many duece coupes do you see with a big
block? This one has a performance built 396 with dual quad tunnel
ram! The Edelbrock intake and carbs are new. It features
rectangular port heads, aluminum water pump, MSD ignition, aluminum
pulleys. Dressed up with some hot looking polished finned valve
covers and matching reverse air scoop. An aluminum radiator with
electric fan keeps it cool. How about those cool headers with
dumps. This motor looks cool!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk lid has an electric lift. Inside is
completely upholstered to match the interior. Has billet hinge. A
gel cell battery is located in the trunk and has a billet hold
down.
UNDERSIDE: TCI chassis is painted gloss white. Up front it has a
Speedway chrome tubular drop axle. Chrome transverse spring,
shocks, steering shaft and tubular control arms. New Vega steering
box. Recent front end alignment. Has chrome high torque starter.
700R-4 overdrive automatic trans was gone through, new clutches.
Polished aluminum driveshaft. In back it has a Ford 9 inch rear
with 3.55 gears, tubular upper and lower control arms and coil over
adjustable shocks. 2 1/2 inch stainless exhaust. All new power
brake system with disc at all 4 wheels.
Yes it's a hot rod but it is very well built and very user
friendly. You can enjoy cruising and showing this car. If you want
to scare the crap out of the passenger it will do that too.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
