Vehicle Description
The C5 revived the Z06 name after more than four decades, and just
like its predecessors, this was all about awakening the beast.
Adding power and saving weight, this 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
was the quickest 'Vette of its era. So when you can find one in
such good care and low mileage, this 400+ hp speed machine is huge
deal at such an affordable price.
The C5 Z06 was built to be a true enthusiast's Corvette. The Fixed
Roof Coupe was the lightest and strongest Corvette configuration.
Then they shed weight wherever they could, even including utilizing
a thinner windshield. The result was the leanest and meanest
Corvette to hit the streets. But more than just a powerful package,
this example is a stunner. It has averaged less than 2,200 miles
annually, and the factory Torch Red remains gorgeous - proof that
this one has been respectfully treated like the modern classic it
is. There's even $3k in receipts for upgrades, that include a
plastic shield for the front of the car. And speaking of upgrades,
this one has a tasteful dark side to go with the red (which is
ceramic coated). Deep tinted windows and black rear light louvers
join the side cooling ducts for a well-done aggression. And the
black powder coated wheels with red inserts and red calipers behind
them are a true masterstroke of cool coordination.
All the black accents of the exterior get you read for an all-black
interior. Such little mileage means the leather on the bucket seats
look great, and the aggressive red Z06 stitching is still bold.
This is loaded with all the best features, including a power
driver's seat, dual zone climate control, power steering, power
windows, power locks, keyless entry, power mirrors, cruise control,
and a AM/FM/CD stereo system by Bose. Because this is a modern
classic, it also means modern safety features such as dual airbags
and anti-lock brakes. But what you'll really love the most is how
much this is built to be a driver's machine. The shifter feels
perfect in your right hand, and the head-up display means you never
have to take your eyes off the road during performance driving.
While 2001 was the first year of the Z06's rebirth, this later 2003
model has its own special place in the books. By then Chevrolet
upped the 5.7-liter LS6 from 380 horsepower to 405, and the
suspension and steering were improved, too. This kind of
significance really makes you happy to tilt the hood forward and
see the original numbers-matching V8 proudly sitting in the engine
bay. It's all looking great, right down to the bold red covers. And
you have complete control over all the sound and fury the V8 brings
thanks to the six-speed manual transmission. As a true competition
machine, the upgraded suspension package allows this fully
independent setup to perform at its best during high speeds. And
keeping everything in control is also the large four-wheel disc
brake package and Firestone Firehawk performance tires.
This is the well-maintained and well-presented performance machine.
So if you're looking for a distinctive modern classic, don't let
this affordable opportunity slip away. Call today!!!
