1970 BMW 2002 E10 Runs Well - Restoration Project - new radiator -
restored rear light system, all new contacts, updated sockets, new
bulbs, new wires, restored lenses - Updated stereo with slight
modification to the existing radio mount panel - entire panel and
key tray are now in black leather. - Took apart instrument panel
and re-finished white and silver parts for greater reflectivity,
replaced all bulbs (see below about issues with instrument panel) -
Replaced heater core. - Carpets are in pretty good shape (they've
been replaced), but I would switch them out if I were restoring it.
- New gas gauge - New breaks - Alternator has been replaced. -
Carburetor has been rebuilt and needle valve replaced - Rear
anti-roll bar installed - Battery moved to rear for more weight in
trunk - Tail lights and directionals have been retrofitted and
restored to - Turn signal switch has been repaired by Baker Garage
in Denver. - Previous owner replaced transmission with 1974 '02
tranny. - Clutch and pressure plate have been replaced; flywheel
has been refinished. Master cylinder and slave cylinder have been
replaced. - Ignition key system has been replaced - Numerous seals
have been replaced (full list available) - Dash instrument panel
has a short somewhere, so occasionally warning lights flash on,
temp gauge and gas gauge fluctuate or read too high (has been
confirmed to be isolated to instrument panel). original windshield
(still has factory sticker), so pretty roughed up, no major cracks
though. - Stored for 40 years of its life in a barn, which is good,
but sun beat on driver side and actually damaged the drivers-side
