Own this Vehicle from $244 per month-call 636-600-4600 Few rat rods
have as much character as this one, a 1937 Dodge Custom Rat Rod
Pickup. This vehicle belonged to Billy Rhatigan, owner of Art City
Body Shop in Springville, Utah. This all-steel rat rod has
authentic patina, a custom frame and an unrestored steel cab with a
driver's side windshield wiper. Both side windows are cracked,
however. Ahead of the cowl is a freshly built 350 CID Chevrolet
engine with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, a
four-bolt main, a new automatic transmission, while behind the cab
is a Camaro rear differential. This Rat Rod also has four-wheel
brakes. Driver convenience features include power windows. The Rat
Rod has 165/80R15 radials in front with 265/75R15 BFGoodrich Long
Trail T/As in back. Each tire is mounted on black disc wheels with
chrome center caps. The tires and wheels are in overall very good
order. Examples of whimsical touches include a swan hood ornament,
a bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale bottle as the coolant overflow,
interior door handles fashioned from combination wrenches, a
flaming skull shift knob and a cargo bed partially built with speed
limit signs. In back are two taillights from a 1959 Cadillac.
Inside, the three-spoke steering wheel has been drilled out for
lightness and has a matching Brodie Knob. In the cargo bed is the
vehicle's fuel cell. The black bench seat is in very good order.
Rhatigan has been driving cars since he was 10 and building cars
since he was 16. When he was in his 20s he opened the best body
shop on Long Island, New York. Although he was born and raised
there, he discovered a love of snow skiing shortly thereafter. He
and a friend organized an Alta Ski Club with six or eight friends
from New York. They came to Utah every March for several years. He
fell in love with the beautiful mountains and he made the decision
to move to Utah when he was 40. Finally, he came out and drove past
the original little shop at 587 S Main St. in Springville and saw a
lot of potential. Upon buying the place, he built a state of the
art, 10,000-square-foot shop, paved the parking lot and made many
other improvements to the property. If you collect rat rods,
restomods and other non-vanilla classic vehicles, you owe it to
yourself to stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars and check this one
