I have a 1964 Galaxie that I have been fixing up. I went through the 289 engine last summer and installed newer 302 heads and an Edelbrock performer rpm and 600cfm carb. I put a new petronix ignition in it along with a full tune-up. I put a new radiator in it along with water pump, fuel pump and timing chain. It is pretty much a running project that can be driven the way it is. I went through and replaced everything in the front brakes including shoes, rubber and every steel line in the car, wheel cylinders, etc. I did a fuel line too. The car also got new tires on it last summer and I've put a hundred miles or so on it.
The car will need to have some additional work done to it to be legitimately nice, the top has a torn back window, also the hydraulics don't work but it goes up and down easily by hand. The interior needs seat covers at a minimum but should probably have carpet too at some point. The rear bumper is bad. I have a nicer front bumper that can go with it.
The car isn't perfect but will get you into something that runs and drives. Some small weeknight projects will leave you cruising on the weekends. I detailed everything nicely when I did the work. Including sandblasting and painting the parts I had off.
The car has dual exhaust that isn't very loud and cruises down the road nicely for a big car that doesn't have new shocks on it. It really has very little rust on it too. floors and trunk are clean
it does have a spot on each side underneath on a bracket that have a hole in them(must've been where they collect salt)
I'd keep it but I have too many cars and need to make some space.
Come take a look but I'd rather not have it leave the driveway until it dries up a little.
I have a clean and clear title for it.
I would entertain offers and trades to a certain extent but cash rules. I do love older Ford or Mercury project cars and barn finds.
For the purists out there, this car is originally gold. It is an older paint job, but the guy I bought it from bought it in the 80's and it never left his garage since the 90's until last year.
