Vehicle Description
This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 answers the question, what is the ultimate
classic pickup. After all, it has a powerful V8 motor, a luxury
leather interior, and all the right thoughtful upgrades (including
overdrive.) And it's all wrapped in a build so fresh, there's less
than 170 miles on it!
This project was only completed a few months ago, and they really
took their time to get it right. You're looking at a frame-off
restoration that took this truck down to bare metal before
rebuilding this into a masterpiece of a pickup. The body has
amazing panels, so you can crisply see details like the full-length
crease that runs from the headlight, through the cab, and even
continues on the fenders of the stepside bed. The Light Jade paint
joins the Snow White on the bumper, grille, and wrapping around the
back of the cab for a subtle two-tone. And while those are terrific
'50s-style colors, the amount of light they radiate can only come
from multiple layers of a butter-smooth clearcoat. This idea of
classic style with a premium flair is seen all around the truck,
including the American Black Walnut floor in the bed. And more than
just a vintage machine, the lowered suspension, low profile tires,
and aggressive stagger of the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels
(16/18 inches front/rear) hint that this one is more than just a
looker.
All the white accenting on the outside gets you ready for the full
white leather interior. The seat is far suppler than anything you
could get in the '50s, and the same goes for the custom door
panels. And while the dash and headliner continue this pristine
white, the carpeting and steering wheel remain black. It's still a
pickup after all, and so you should never have to worry about
dusting off your shoes or scrubbing your hands before going for a
ride. And this one was absolutely meant to be enjoyed on the road.
You have great for all-day comfort like power steering and the
retro-style AM/FM stereo with an aux input for your iPod. And
there's modern R134a air conditioning blowing nice and cold. Plus,
the original gauge panel is now fitted with a much more informative
Dakota Digital setup so you know everything that's going on under
the hood.
With so few miles, the engine bay has a crisp and award-worthy
presentation. Smooth color-matched walls, a matching air topper,
polished components, hidden wires, and an overall tidy setup means
you'll love showing off this 350 cubic-inch V8. More than just look
great, this fresh crate motor was built for power. It's topped with
an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. Plus, you also have upgraded
76cc heads, Comp Cams camshaft, an aluminum Edelbrock intake,
billet pulleys, and headers feeding the rumbling MagnaFlow H-pipe
dual exhaust. This is also built to be an all-around great driver.
The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is good for quick
kick-downs for power, and it also easily slips into overdrive
cruising. And the aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans is there
to help keep you running cool even in traffic with the A/C pumping.
As you look at the undercarriage photos, you see more advantages of
this new build, including an upgraded independent front subframe,
fresh bushings, and front disc brakes.
