I purchased the car 19 years ago in pristine condition with 106 235km on the odometer, the color at purchase was alpine green the car has presently 175,000 km. The car has no rust and has never been winter driven. The color was customized 10 years ago for a two tone color scheme: alpine green with light green inlay defined by a gold and burgundy pin stripe inspired from Jaguar Mark VIII and IX from the late 50s. The interior leather is magnolia in excellent condition the interior headliner was changed a few years ago. The car has a factory sun roof in working condition. All options are in working condition except for cruise control.
The first time, I set eyes on a British car was in my early teens and it was love at first sight. In my later teens I purchased a Triumph motorcycle and my first car a 1952 MGTD, I was off to the races, I’ve been involved with British car and clubs for over 45 years and luck as it the same mechanic taking care of my cars and bikes over the past 30 years, I always wanted to own a Jaguar E type 2+2 and Bernard my mechanic which owned an E type coupe was on the lookout for me.
Time passed with no good prospects on the horizon. Months pass and I get a call from Bernard, Terry I have a car for you, it’s not a 2+2, and the car is a Vanden Plas XJ12 in pristine condition must be seen. The owner left the car for servicing and to be sold. I wanted to be polite with Bernard so passed by the garage. I walked in the garage my eyes focus immediately on this XJ12 the car outshined all the other Jaguars in the establishment I knew in my mind the car is sold, my buddy Bernard sees me and immediately wants to show me the car, I answer no need Bernard lets do the paper work.
The car is stunning in Alpine Green and rivals any car in its class. The car is a pleasure to drive plus an eye-catcher, when I fill-up at the gas station I get queries and comments from the other patrons filling-up (I’ve never seen a car like this before, what a stunning car, is this a new car, what years is the car,). At car shows I get the same comments and more.
