2006 Dodge Magnum SRT8 - 13K Original Miles
"This... is about more than horsepower-it's about moving through
traffic with gunfighter confidence." Car and Driver (September,

The Dodge Magnum SRT8 was, and is, a unique high-performance,
limited edition vehicle. The numbers tell much-but not all-of the
tale: 6-liter V8 making 425 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque
(@4800 rpm); 10.3:1 compression; 5-speed automatic transmission;
20-inch wheels and tires; 0-60mph: 5.1 seconds ; 70-0 braking: 170
feet; top speed: 169 mph (all performance numbers from the C/D Road
Test). Whew! This is a car with time-bending,
push-you-back-in-the-seat performance.
The Hemi engine features of the Magnum go beyond the numbers:
"big-valve heads; a beefier block; a forged crank; stronger rods; a
billet cam; and even hollow intake- and exhaust-valve stems to lift
the useful rev range to 6400 rpm." Underneath, struts are Bilsteins
in front and Sachs in back. Calling the handling "light on its
tires," Car and Driver's road testers added: "The overall balance
is stolid and trusty, and if you don't like that, just switch off
the electronic stability control. Hoo-wee! Kick the tail out to
macho drift angles and flat-pedal it off the turns, knowing all the
time that the 14.2-inch-front and 13.8-inch-rear vented Brembos
have an amazing capacity to bring you down to grandpa-slow in time
for the next turn." Said another way: "The firm and
easy-to-modulate brake pedal seems to call down the hand of
God."
A creation of Chrysler's Street and Racing Technology (SRT) group,
the SRT8 Magnum is more than a match for heavy-metal rivals from
the likes of the Mercedes-Benz AMG marque. Then again, the Magnum's
5-speed automatic actually is the same used by AMG, a benefit of
the Chrysler-Daimler corporate lash-up of the time. With all its
blinding power and high-performance specs, the Magnum is also a
perfect cruiser. Automobile magazine noted: "On a drive from
Phoenix to Los Angeles, the wagon cruised superbly at 100 mph all
day. We could have hauled all three of our friends and their
luggage, too, and had just as smooth and fast a drive. If the world
is turning away from big honking SUVs, it might consider this SRT8
the perfect alternative."
The Magnum SRT8 offered here is in superb condition. Indications of
wear are minimal to non-existent. The engine bay alone is
automotive artwork guaranteed to prompt long, admiring stares. The
5-spoke SRT-branded aluminum wheels shine beautifully, and the
Continental Extreme Contact all-season high-performance tires have
plenty of remaining tread depth. Black paint overall is virtually
flawless, as is the condition of interior surfaces from carpet to
upholstery to billet-aluminum pedals to the amazing audio system.
Indeed, the car came from the factory virtually loaded with every
option from a sunroof, to 276-watt amplifier and 100-watt
subwoofer, to well-bolstered heated seats, navigation, Sirius radio

At a mere 13,700 miles-barely 1,000 a year-this two-owner Magnum
SRT8 can legitimately claim: "just broken in." It's a real
garage-kept treat, and a rare one at that. The next owner will have
