Vehicle Description
Take the smooth clean lines of a '66 Chevy fleetside pickup, drop
them down low,... a little lower,... yeah that's good. Now raise
the rear up just a little to give it a bit of attitude with some
chassis rake. Nice. That's perfect. Y'all should come on down and
check this truck out. It's a first-class custom build from top to
bottom, and it is one sweet ride.
Black is a popular color for these trucks because they look so good
in it! The long straight lines of the body catch the light and
reflect it back whether its sitting still in a parking lot or
driving down the boulevard on a Friday night. The fleetside bed
makes for the perfect opportunity to make the truck look even lower
with a piece of chrome molding that runs in a straight line from
front to rear, and running those black wheels adds to the effect
even further. Up front a narrow chrome grill runs from side to side
flanked by single headlights and is underlined by a simple chrome
bumper. Out back the look is crazy clean with a custom tailgate
acting like a big black mirror flanked by a couple simple
taillights and underlined by another simple chrome bumper. Inside
the bed is beautifully refinished in wood slats with chrome
strips.
Open the door and you will find more custom work on the Black and
Purple interior. The black door panel has the pattern of the inside
door handle echoed on the armrest and the purple stripe. There is a
leather wrapped three spoke steering wheel that feels good in your
hands mounted on a tilt column with a polished bowtie horn button.
Behind it is a black dash with a chrome panel housing Dolphin
gauges for the speedo, tach, fuel, oil pressure, water temp and
voltage. Controls for the Vintage Air system are mounted high in
the center with a Pioneer head unit pumping the sounds out through
speakers mounted behind the seats. Those seats are power operated
and super comfortable with purple bowties sewn into the backs. A
center console is embroidered with 66 and cup holders along with
the power window switches are mounted in front of that. Black
carpeting underpins everything and purple dresses out the rest of
the cab, including the headliner and around the sunroof.
Pop the hood and you will find a 350 cubic inch ZZ4 motor nestled
down in a spotlessly clean and detailed out engine bay. A finned
and polished air cleaner assembly sits on top of a Holley 4-barrel
carburetor which feeds a Weiand intake. Chrome Chevrolet valve
covers add a splash of flash and Hermann headers get the spent
gasses heading back to Flowmaster mufflers. A Be Cool aluminum
radiator keeps the temps under control and there is a new cap,
wires and plugs as well as new hoses and a serpentine belt setup.
Power flows back through a TCI Streetfighter 700R4 automatic
transmission to the rear end with a finned aluminum cover to keep
it cool. The rear air bag suspension is adjustable for ride height
and includes a sway bar for good handling. Up front a control arm
suspension also has a sway bar to keep the truck cornering flat and
the rubber meets the road through 275/40ZR18s in the back and
245/45/ZR18s in the front mounted on those black Boss Motorsports
alloys.
A first-class custom build from top to bottom. Come on down,...
down a little lower, yeah that's good. Now take a good look and see
if this is the truck you will be driving this summer.
