For Sale: 1966 Austin-Healey BJ8 in Cincinnati, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this spectacular 1966 Austin Healey BJ8 3000 Mark III in amazing condition. This car has been completely restored; it looks amazing, runs great, and is an excellent driver. This Austin Healey is priced to sell, always turns heads, and gets a TON of attention going down the road. The car is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Healey Blue over Blue with a Blue top. This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certified Copy of a Factory Record. Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice, clean, and striking this Austin Healey really is. This Austin Healey comes with some service records. There is a receipt from March 2018 showing that the car received a complete fluid service. All of the fluids were changed at that time including the engine oil, gearbox, rear axle, brakes, clutch hydraulics, and cooling system. All of the chassis points were lubed. The tires were balanced and the wheel bearings were greased. The shop also road tested the car and noted that all lights, suspension, and steering systems all checked out fine.

The car also comes with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certified Copy of a Factory Record. There is a stamping on the engine pictured below, "29K-RU-H/8639." This is the correct number according to the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Factory Record. The body number, 78808, is also correct and pictured below.

The removable soft-top, (hood) and blue tonneau cover are included with this Austin Healey. The car is also well optioned with chrome wire wheels and functional overdrive.

As a side note, this Austin Healey is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Mark II, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Healey Blue exterior is in marvelous condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, smooth finished, and beautiful paint quality. The chrome bumpers and other bight work on the car look magnificent with a brilliant finish and no rust or pitting. Both doors open and shut nicely. The chrome wire knock off wheels are in excellent condition with a great finish and no curb rash. The tires are sized 165R15 with 95% tread left. The frame and everything else on the car is completely solid. I encourage any buyer to closely inspect the many underside photos to see how clean the car is. There are absolutely no rust issues with the Healey what so ever and the underside looks great.

This Austin Healey looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Blue interior of the Austin Healey is in fantastic condition. The seats look lovely with no holes, splits, or excessive wear. The seat shows just minimal wear in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is in great condition with no rips or holes. The gauge faces are nice and clean and the lenses are crisp and clear. The chrome and other brightwork inside the car has a terrific finish and looks great overall. The dash and console are in excellent condition with no fading or sun damage. The door panels are in excellent condition and the door pulls are solid. The wood grain inside looks nice with no delamination. The convertible top (hood) and tonneau cover are in excellent condition with no tears or holes. The rear window in soft-top looks great. It is clear and not scratched, foggy, or yellowed.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This 3000 MK III seems to be in good mechanical condition. The car starts every time, runs well, and idles smooth. The car is an awesome driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can see the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, accelerating away, and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts properly, there are no strange vibrations, and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well and the shifter is tight. The clutch feels good. This Austin Healey has plenty of power for it's size and is quite nimble. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, indicators, and wipers. All of the gauges work. The fan for the heater works. The dash (panel) lights work as one can see in the video. The headlights and brights work. As with many other older carbureted cars, this Austin Healey is quite cold blooded, it starts every time, but it can take a while if the car has been sitting for a while and is cold. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day and the 4-speed transmission.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MK III is in brilliant restored condition. We have this Austin Healey priced to sell. This particular 3000 MK III is highly desirable in the correct and original color combination of Healey Blue over Blue. The market on the 3000 Austin Healey's is very hot right now. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are solid investments for a collector. This is especially true for highly sought-after examples like this restored Mark III. This Austin Healey always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners.
