Vehicle Description
This 1978 Dodge W200 Adventurer Club Cab is a very cool find. This
is a very cool and very rare truck....you just don't see a lot of
these. This was recently purchased by a mechanic from an estate on
the West Coast. His idea was to do a complete restoration, but once
he got it home and saw the originality and how clean it was he
couldn't bring himself to ruin the originality so instead he did a
complete mechanical restoration. This truck was completely gone
through mechanically and brought up to snuff to make it a reliable
and nice driving truck. He told us that the parts he replaced were
original and the mileage is believed to be original.
The body on this truck is rust free and solid. Obviously there is
going to be some patina, as you can see in the pictures, and the
paint is original. This gives the truck a very cool look and
personally I would leave it just the way it is. The interior is
unbelievably clean! It has factory gauges which are working,
factory tach which is working, and factory clock which is not
working. Original Seat and original carpet are in great condition
and the factory radio still works!
Mechanically this truck is amazing. The 440 V8 engine runs great
and fires up immediately. It is all original except for a new
Edelbrock Carb and was recently tuned up, new hoses and belts, new
battery and cables, and oil change. The transmission is the 727
Automatic that was just serviced and shifts excellent. It has the
NP203 Transfer Case with fresh fluid, new u-joints, new carrier
bearing, new brake hoses and brakes serviced. Axles are both Dana
60's with 4.10 gears. He also replaced front hubs and added new
shocks all around. New Tires and new exhaust were also added. As
stated previously, this truck has been mechanically gone through
and is ready to roll. It was made into a dependable driver for
someone.
