For Sale: 1976 International Scout in Mesa, Arizona

Vehicle Description

A cool survivor style, V8 power, 4x4 utility, and the uniqueness of an IH product make this 1976 International Scout II Rallye this an interesting find. And its value price makes it irresistible.

We love International Harvester Scouts a little more than the other convertible 4x4s out there just because you know they represent old school toughness. After all, you had to get them from the same dealer that was selling farm equipment. And this one seems to represent that feeling perfectly. This has a great '70s style earthtone (likely Buckskin color) that is both popular for the era and has an industrial attitude. It shows all the right signs for being original. The same goes for the full white stripe package of this Rallye edition. It all has a cool worn-in look. So where hot rods have patina, a classic 4x4 like this has a cool weathered spirit from living a versatile life. And speaking of versatile, this has all the right features to keep it handy, including the tall Ranchero three-inch lift, roof rack, diamond plating rockers, and a trailer hitch.

Inside is more of that cool vintage '70s attitude with more earthtones, plenty of wood-like trim, and even a CB radio. Two rows of bench seats mean plenty of room for family and friends. Plus, there's space for all their cargo, too. This makes for an ideal tailgating machine. The AM/FM/cassette stereo means upgraded tunes, and so it's exactly the kind of cruiser you want when it's time to remove the hardtop and enjoy the uniqueness of a full convertible classic SUV.

International's own 304 cubic-inch V8 means a unique presentation that also provides plenty of power on tap. It's mated to a three-speed automatic transmission for easy driving, and the power steering and front disc brakes add to this feeling. The Scout's four-wheel drive system is a stout two-speed transfer case that connects to Dana axles at both ends. So, while this might look like a great original vehicle for Sunday cruising, just know that this one also has the right combo for true 4x4 toughness. But no matter where you drive it, this old-school SUV draws a crowd. In fact, Scouts hit that perfect sweet spot where they are not a common sight, but there were enough produced that you don't have to worry about finding spare components.

You've always admired that cool adaptability where this Scout is just as comfortable out camping in the wild, as it is as a convertible cruising the boulevards. So when you can find one that's priced nicely, then you know you have to act fast. Call today!!!
