Vehicle Description
Amazing distinction meets absolute rarity with this 1984 Excalibur
Series IV Phaeton. And while the classic appearance alone is worth
the price, they made this to be the ideal touring machine of its
time. So don't forget to check out the V8 power, luxury A/C
interior, two tops, overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes,
fully independent suspension, and more.
The Excalibur marque is truly a great American affair as celebrated
stylist Brooks Stevens brought together components to make a
neo-classic Mercedes SSK. He didn't cut corners, and that's why you
have flowing fenders, intricate chrome bumpers, dual spotlights,
and genuine wire wheels. There were only a few thousand Excaliburs
built over the twenty-year initial run, and so you know they took
the time to craft each one individually. There's a true sense of
style here that comes from all the details like the dual
fender-mounded spare wheels and the additional horns up front.
There were exceptionally expensive, and you see the quality in how
the tobacco brown paint (believed to be the original application)
still has a deep luster that shows off all the curves. They also
made sure to give you all the right details. So the tan power
folding soft top looks nice against the brown paint, and there's
even a color-matched hard top that continues the gold and white
pinstriping package.
But while both tops look nice, an Excalibur is at its best when
it's open to the world. The tan interior looks great against the
exterior color, and the darker brown piping looks great against the
walnut on the doors and dash. More than just look luxurious, it
feels luxurious with deeply bolstered bucket seats up front that
power adjust to your ideal position. Plus, you have a plush rear
seat, power locks, cruise control, and provisions for power
windows. And you also have great upgrades, like an AM/FM/CD stereo
and a cleanly installed radar detector. And because the air
conditioning is blowing cold with R134a, feel free to enjoy
top-down motoring through the summer.
While an Excalibur is a complete custom build, you'll be glad they
went to the mainstream for the power. This Chevrolet 305 cubic-inch
V8 is great for stout performance and easy parts availability. It
inhales deeply through a Rochester four-barrel carburetor, and
makes a dignified sound out of the dual exhaust. This is a great
machine for the open road, that's why it has desirable features
like a fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes.
Plus, with power steering and a four-speed automatic transmission
w/overdrive, it's easy to show off this Excalibur near or far.
A distinct classic like this needs the right paperwork, and so the
sale includes the original owner's info packet, warranty card,
dealer invoice, title documentation, service manuals, and
maintenance records. This is the rare, luxurious, and unique
machine that's always a conversation starter. Call today!!!
