The Boxster filled a huge void in the Porsche lineup when it was
released in 1997 with a low entry level two seater convertible.
These were bought up quickly by the masses as the price point was
too tempting. Porsche as many other European manufactures have an
incredible option for buyers to partake in called the Tourist
delivery. This unique option allows the new buyer to pick their car
up at the manufacture and tour the facility and drive the vehicle
around Europe and then return it and have it shipped home. Very few
take advantage of this amazing opportunity but the ones that do,
never forget it.
In 1998 Mr. John Henne out of Pennsylvania went into Sewickly Car
Store with his grandson and ordered his 1999 Boxster in the most
peculiar color combination. Like an interior designer Mr. Henne
laid out the swatches on the desk and envisioned in his head how
his Boxster was going to look. Then he went down the option list
and picked out some great fantastic features that would set this
one apart. Finally he checked the box for Tourist Delivery and
looked over to his grandson and asked, "Do you want to go see a
Castle?" We know this story because just a few weeks ago the
grandson traded in this incredible Boxster to us to purchase his
Porsche C4S. He vividly told us the story and even had some
pictures of their journey to Germany to pick up the car at the
factory and to see that famous castle - Schloss Neuschwanstein. He
inherited the car when his grandfather passed in 2013 and sparingly
drove the car and taking care of it.
The car is Pastel Yellow with a Metropol Blue top and then
highlighted by Nephrite Green Special leather interior. No new car
manager would ever risk a color like this to inventory on their
sales floor, but this color combo in not only gorgeous in person,
but was the only Boxster to receive a color setup like this one.
Further factory options are; traction control, Tourist delivery,
special chassis rigidly tuned, 17in wheels with colored crest,
cruise control, remote control alarm system, Porsche wind stop, and
non-smoker package.
For those that like to be a little different then the norm, this is
a golden opportunity to have something that no one else will have
at a car show, country club or backyard BBQ. Vehicle comes with all
manuals, service receipts, both keys, original MSRP ($57,026), and
clean title.
