wasn't successful enough, the company opted to further quantify the
car's already-impressive performance reputation by entering it in
the premiere showcase for pony cars: the SCCA Trans Am Series�hence
the moniker Z28. If there ever was a factory Hot Rod in the Camaro
product line, the Z28 was it. When placed in the hands of teams
like Penske Racing, Chaparral Racing and Alan Green Chevrolet
Racing, the Z28 performed flawlessly enough for the late great Mark
Donohue to annex back-to-back SCCA Trans Am Championships in 1968
and 1969 behind the wheel of Penske's Sunoco Camaros. Chevrolet
Division now had the small-block factory Hot Rod they were looking
for and the orders started pouring in. This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro
Z28 was produced at the Norwood, Ohio Assembly Plant on the 3rd
week of March, 1968. It is equipped with the desirable Z28 package
that includes the 302/290HP "MO" engine, and M21 Muncie 4-speed
transmission. Finished from the factory in the highly sought-after
color code "RR" Matador Red complemented by trim code 725 Deluxe
Red interior. This Camaro is complete with the numbers matching
302/290HP "MO" engine and Smog system and numbers matching M21
Muncie 4-speed transmission. This Z28 is nicely optioned with the
following: Folding Rear Seat, Power Windows, Tach and Gauges,
