1976 F150 Short-Wide Box with a 78 grille. Sunroof, Enkei Directional Mag wheels, 12". Single 3" exhaust. Color is technically "Medium Current Mica". Mild build on the engine; 390 cid engine with "quench heads" with over-sized valves, 428 SCJ camshaft, Carter 625 carb, Crane Anti-Pump Up lifters, MSD, hi-volume oil pump, new (not rebuilt) starter and new deep-cycle AGM battery. Professionally installed Heavy-duty overload spring kit in the rear. Somehow the short-wide box, tires and fender flares, and clean overall look just work to turn heads. People comment on what a nice "stance" the truck has. I have had the truck for over 30 years, so now for a couple years my wife will drop an occasional hint that she would like me to get an updated truck with air conditioning, power steering, better safety rating, etc; so then I just laugh and remind her that I have had the truck longer than I have had her! Pretty funny, huh? ;-). My neighbors who are into their hot-rods are giving me a hard time now that they see I would even consider selling it..sigh. It never fails that I take it out for a drive people give me the thumbs-up, so then I hold onto it a while longer! I get tons of compliments whenever I take it out; otherwise in the garage during winter. People have literally turned around and followed me to inquire about this truck.
Disclosures:
-The rear tailgate has some damage when something too heavy was loaded on it, so it broke some spot-welds near the top
-The dash light panel is only about 50-75% lit, and the cab light is not working.
- There are a few chips in the paint in some areas
- Tear in the bench seat - refer to photo
- The rear main seal has a slow leak (yep, it's a Ford)
- The paint job was done years ago; block sanded and the works, however I do use the truck for work around the house, so there are paint chips
