For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Corvette in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Vehicle Description

We purchased this 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible C3 which has the original 350 small block (see engine and vin number pictures) in September of 2016. The odometer shows 14,951 miles but does not work so no idea of the actual miles the prior owner estimated less than 50,000. The BMV entered 174,678 miles in error so we are dropping the priced from $29,900 to $22,500 cash OBO.

The prior owner had the car stored under cover since 1996 and rarely drove the car the last 10 years due to an electrical problem that he could never solve causing the car to stop running and then not start for hours or days. I replaced the starter, battery and the battery ground wire but it did not solve the problem. My father in-law which has restored over (40) C3 model corvettes determined it was the starter switch and once replaced (which was very difficult) it solved the problem and the car starts runs great with plenty of power. The prior owner installed a Hurst shifter but kept the original which I have along with several other original parts that have been replaced.

The car was restored over 23 years ago by a previous owner and it has the soft top and a hard top. The paint color is original La Mans Blue 976 (see picture of door panel) as is the Bright Blue interior 411. The hard top does not appear to be original as it was red and repainted to the La Mans Blue. The restoration shows some body work primarily the driver side door (see pictures) otherwise the car is in very good condition. The vacuum system needs work the lights open when turned on but must me closed manually and the windshield wiper panel will not close completely which is very typical and can be repaired or replaced with electrical motors.

We have kept the car covered and stored in a temperature controlled building. I purchased Hooker headers, glass packs and side pipes all polished chrome but never installed them so they can come with the car if interested. My intent was to fully restore but do not have the time at this point.
