Vehicle Description
The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia has many loyal followers, and with good
reason. As a two-seater sports car with a heaping helping of German
engineering, it's certainly a desirable package. It also adds a
unique personality that endears it to its fans. But you don't have
to be a fan to appreciate one of the world's most popular and
widely used engines. The 1200cc horizontally opposed (boxer) engine
is naturally smooth. It has seen duty in everything from industrial
applications to aircraft, so you know it's rugged and dependable.
Forged steel rods connected to a forged crank form a bulletproof
bottom end. It has aluminum heads; and it's air-cooled, which
eliminates a lot of annoying cooling system problems that would
sideline the car. And of course, there's that famous VW fuel
economy. The 4-speed transmission is also a piece that stands up to
years of usage. The orange paint looks great with this car along
with a black top and interior. You can get nice and comfortable in
the bucket seats and ahead of you are a set of premium VDO gauges
and a Sapphire radio. This Ghia is a fine example complete with
chrome bumpers and bumper guards, and the instantly recognizable
chrome hubcaps on slotted aluminum wheels. Volkswagen enthusiasts
will love this car, but it looks and drives great and did we
mention that famous VW fuel economy? Anyone can fall in love with
this beautiful 1974 Karmann Ghia.
