1953 Studebaker 2-Door in West Palm Beach, Florida

Vehicle Description

A 1953 Studebaker with a 354ci HEMI engine that was built by HEMI guru, Gene Adams. Adams built the HEMI to be streetable and to run on pump gas. The engine is equipped with Egge pistons, Cox pulley drives, Vertex magneto, billet valve covers, billet ignition wire covers, Engle cam, 2.062" intake valves, 1.800" exhaust valves and twin AFBs. Additionally, the block and the heads were polished. Upon reassembly, the heads and block were coated in DuPont Silver Star Metallic and clear coated. Then, using a Hays flywheel and Lakewood bellhousing, it was coupled to a BorgWarner 4-speed manual transmission delivering power to a 9" Ford rear end. The suspension features a Fat Man front clip with rack & pinion steering, disc brakes and Carrera coilovers. Engine exhaust is handled by a Sanderson HEMI Hugger system. During the build the stock Studebaker pot metal grille bars were replaced by custom-fabricated billet grille bars, the turn signals were relocated to the headlights, the glass was replaced and shows as NOS material, the stock gas tank was replaced with a 10-gallon tank and then trunk-mounted, and the dash was replaced with one from a 1956 Hawk.
