Vehicle Description
This GT500 428 SCJ Drag-Pack Shelby was built on May 21, 1969, at
the Dearborn Ford assembly plant and sold new at Metro Ford Sales
of Canada. The engine has been rebuilt and nicely detailed. It is
powered by its matching-numbers 428ci Super Cobra Jet engine backed
by the factory-optioned large-input 4-speed manual transmission
with a Hurst shifter and stock shift shaft and knob. Factory
equipment includes a 3.91 Traction-Lok differential, sports deck
rear seat, power steering, power front disc brakes, tilt-away
steering wheel, power ventilation, AM/FM radio, intermittent
windshield wipers and visibility group. Shelby-installed equipment
includes Lucas fog lights, 140 mph speedometer, 8,000 rpm
tachometer, roll bar with shoulder harness and lap belts, and
console gauges. As documented by its Marti Report, this Shelby was
special ordered in Grabber Orange, and is one of seven finished in
the color and equipped with a 428SCJ engine. This Shelby has always
been well taken care of, retains most of its original interior and
is in overall good condition. Additional options include oil
cooler, upgraded LeMans connecting rods, steel crankshaft, forged
pistons, flywheel with flex-plate, and harmonic balancer - all of
which were mandatory with the Super Cobra Jet option. The original
selling dealer's logo is still affixed to the trunk lid. This car
is ready to be driven and includes two original sets of keys, Marti
Reports, copy of SAAC documentation and history in the registry.
The car retains both of its original fender aprons with factory VIN
stampings behind windshield and driver's door tags.
