1970 Miscellaneous Recreational Vehicle in Collierville, Tennessee

Vehicle Description

The Hanomag F25 was produced by German truck, tractor and transport manufacturer Hanomag-Henschel. Although the company was sold to Diamler-Benz in late 1970, the lightweight F25 bus design continued to be produced under the Mercedes brand for years to come. This 1970 example is among the last of the Hanomag-Henschel vehicles that was sent to General Propulsion to be converted into the iconic Combi camper van in the same vein as the original VW Combi's. Although similar to the VW in many ways, the Hanomag employed a front-engine, front-wheel drive configuration and was powered by a Mercedes inline 4 cylinder dies-el engine. This design allowed for more space in the rear and a flat rear surface which created a much roomier living area.

Features of the camper conversion include a Norcold refrigerator for keeping supplies cold, a Rocket water filtration system for clean water, convertible dual sofa/table area that becomes sleeping space for two adults, on-board sink, storage cabinetry and more. With the passenger side sun visor pulled down, this makes for a perfect get away vehicle to create you own beach front view or mountain escape.

This Hanomag appears to be in original, unrestored condition and is solid and sound. The diesel engine runs and drives strong, albeit a little cranky in the morning and in cold weather, typical of older diesel engines. These Vans were never sold in the US, making this Hanomag a far more rare vehicle among a field of VW Combis.
