1963 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL: Fully Restored and now reduced to $99,900
The 1963 190SLs are rarely seen for re-sale. Our car has been owned by the same family since 1984 and during their ownership the car was fully restored. Some of the car’s highlights include:
And, of course, the 190 SLs are, after the 300 SLs, the most collectable post-war Mercedes sports cars.
For those who wish to decode the car:
VIN: 12104010023595
Engine # 12192810001331
Excellent from Top to Bottom
The quality of the color-change re-spray in Silver Gray makes it look as nice it did when the car was released from the factory in 1963.
The chrome trim (bumpers, grill, etc.) is all in excellent condition, setting off the stateliness of the car.
The underside of this Mercedes appears solid and sound with no current evidence of corrosion.
The black convertible top is in excellent condition as is its rear window.
And the hardtop, painted during restoration, is in nice condition.
The red leather interior is clean and fresh-looking, and as one would expect, the upholstery is free of rips, holes or separations.
The gauges all appear to work properly as do the lights, wipers and horn. The speedometer and turn signals likewise work properly.
The single overhead cam engine comes to life at the touch of the starter and operates as it should.
The 4-speed transmission works smoothly and properly.
The brakes on the SL bring it to a quick halt without any pulling from side to side.
This 190 SL will please the most discerning buyer:
A Great Example of Mercedes’ Iconic 190 SL
There is one word that can best describe this 1963 convertible: IMPRESSIVE! Rarity, great paint, excellent upholstery, exceptional engine and transmission, and value: all of which make this classic Mercedes an enjoyable car to drive as well as a sound investment. What can’t be quantified is the feeling one gets when sitting behind the wheel of the SL that is dreamed about by so many other car enthusiasts but owned by so few.
