1953 Ford F100 4x4 this truck is a conversion. Less than 200 were
modified and most of those were 3/4 ton and heavier. The number of
1/2 ton 4X4 conversions were probably less than 50 all years
combined. This may be one of only 2 or 3 1953's left! This truck
has all of the running gear that you would expect to find underside
with everything like the bell housing being bolted to the center of
the frame, cross member also factory riveted and bolted to the
frame and not some hack job welded in as so many were done by shade
tree mechanics. The shifter opening is cut square as it should be.
The rear overload springs have the bumper pads on both ends. The
front fender aprons are also rough torched out and is correct. The
cab of this truck is near perfect. NO rust anywhere on the cab
corners, posts, floors, rockers, doors, dash, or firewall. The
steps each have a small stress crack that is easily fixed. The
tailgate has seen better days but the bed is good. The grille is in
correct, have a super nice 53 grill that goes with it. Not a ding
in either door. Hood and front fenders will need a bunch of work
and would likely be far easier to just replace them. The engine is
a Y block and does turn freely. The front hubs have been upgraded
to a Spicer type but the front axle assembly looks factory correct
and complete. Transfer case is out of the truck but Have a correct
drivers side in-out type transfer case for it that works. No seat
is in the truck. knobs on the dash are not missing, they were just
pulled out when the cab was painted blue a long time ago and are
under the dash. It will need all glass replaced. Please Note The
