Vehicle Description
1994 Pontiac Trans Am
The Pontiac Firebird was first introduced in 1967 as a vehicle to
compete with the Ford Mustang. Its release coincided with the
platform sharing Camaro as well as the Mercury Cougar. It was clear
at this time that muscle cars were the new thing and the Firebird
answered the call. They continued to be produced until 2002 just a
year after Pontiacs 75th anniversary. The Trans Am was a specialty
package applied to the Firebird which upgraded handling,
suspension, performance along with some cosmetic upgrades like
exclusive hoods and spoilers. They were produced on the F body
platform which was also the base for the Chevrolet Camaro. It is
hard to argue against the idea that Burt Reynolds put Trans Am on
the map in 1977 but these cars have continued to be popular
throughout their lifetime. Even the later generations like this 94
have a big following with a lot of diehard Trans Am fans out there
in the world. If you wanted something quick and sporty but didn't
want to become a "Corvette Guy" the Trans Am was a great option.
This 94 is a great running car that belongs to one of those Trans
Am aficionados. He purchased the car new and has cared for it well
ever since. It is painted in a Dark Green paint and has all the
factory Trans Am stylings like the spoiler, hood, emblems, etc. All
of the tinted glass is in good shape as is the paint. It rides on
its original Silver 16" cast aluminum wheels wrapped with Kumho
tires.
The motor in the car is the original 5.7 L LT1 V8 that was almost
identical to the C4 Corvette except for a few minor intake and
exhaust changes. The motor runs very well and is very responsive.
If you have never had a chance to drive one of these they are
surprisingly quick. The motor has had all of its maintenance done
throughout its life and has also received an after market intake as
well as the shock tower support bar. The transmission is a 4L60E
automatic and moves through the gears with ease. The car also has
all the power options you could ask for and everything works
properly.
The interior is done in Tan leather and is all original. It is all
in good condition except for one small tear in the middle of the
fold down rear seat. It is not in the actual material but in the
stitch. Every where else every thing is good and the carpet looks
good as well. The rear hatch opens up to give you access to the
trunk and package tray area. The dash is all original and houses
the AC/Heat controls, original gauges, and AM/FM/CD player. The T
handle shifter is mounted in between the front bucket seats.
This is a cool Trans Am and as we seen the generations of car
hobbyists change these cars are starting to make a resurgence. They
have a sporty look, are fun to drive and perform well. This one has
been well cared for so all it needs is a new garage to call
home.
Start cruising around in this Trans Am for only $12,500.00!
