I have really been enjoying cruising around Dallas in this handsome Galaxie. From the information on the code plate, a good friend of mine, who is a Ford enthusiast and licensed classic car appraiser, was able to give me the “specs” on the car. Here they are:

Since buying the car, I have put 4 new radial tires on it, including a new spare tire (I kept the original spare which is carefully wrapped and stored in the spacious trunk); all new brakes; four new shocks; new rear leaf springs; and a new electronic ignition. My great mechanic Joe García and his crew at J’s Alignment & Muffler in Grand Prairie did the work.
The odometer reads just under 31,000. No way to know if these are original miles, but I feel they may well be because of the condition of the car and how it drives. The black vinyl and cloth interior is original and in fantastic shape! -- no rips or tears. The former owner put in Vintage Air; the AC blows cold and the heater is toasty. The radio works great; so do the wipers. The electric clock does not work.
The exterior Rose Beige paint is original and because of that there is some patina on the hood and trunk, but that just gives the Galaxie character. The exterior chrome and bright work look practically new!
The engine compartment is as clean as a whistle, thanks to the former owner. I had new hood insulation pads installed.
It is a real pleasure to drive this powerful Galaxie on city streets. On the highway it cruises effortlessly.
I am moving from a house to an apartment and so am downsizing.
