Vehicle Description
With only 20,327 miles on the odometer, this 1968 Chevrolet Nova
Chevy II is in stellar condition both inside and out. It's believed
original miles too, and the car certainly reflects that as it's
obviously been treated with respect and used lightly over the years
before recently being sent down to the performance shop, where it
was thoroughly transformed into a beast of a classic muscle
car.
This Chevy wears it's original code "G" Ash Gold color which, after
a fresh repaint, certainly has a subdued, almost sinister look to
it. No doubt benefitting from being shielded from the elements over
the decades, it's in very good form - with nice, even pigmentation
and a deep shine. A Corvette stinger inspired scoop rises from the
center of the hood, surrounded by black painted ornamentation with
a shine of its own so bright it nearly radiates. By any measure,
this is a well-finished looking classic and it cuts a great
appearance - clean chrome trim surrounds the clear glass of the
windows, both bumpers sit level and show no distracting dings and
the body lines are tight and even on all four sides. The badging on
display here is also top notch - the Super Sport emblem sitting in
the center of the black grille just below a the distinctive "Chevy
II" badge embedded on the nose of the car provides a great
look.
Awesomeness continues beyond the doors, where you'll find an
interior that gives the impression that this Nova was frozen in
time soon after leaving the factory. Even among well-restored
classics, its condition is unusually clean - the gold cloth and
vinyl covers on the front and rear bench seats look just as they
did when this car first put rubber to pavement and the door panels
to each side don't show any visible discoloration from use. Just in
front of the stock Nova steering wheel, the dash area meets the
same high standards, with a fresh instrument cluster carrying clear
factory gauges that are joined by aftermarket counterparts to
monitor oil pressure and water temperature just below the original
AM radio and a tach mounted on the steering column. Above, the
straight, still-fresh dash pad is another bit of proof that this
Nova wasn't allowed to languish in the sun. It's no surprise then
that the trunk area is also in top notch condition, with no signs
of any perforations and a full-size spare standing by.
A very fresh, well-built drivetrain combines with some well-chosen
add-ons to make this classic Chevy a real kick to drive. There's a
396 cubic inch V8 sitting in its well-detailed engine compartment,
wearing a nicely badged chrome air cleaner over its 4-barrel Holley
carb and a pair of matching chrome valve covers. Both the engine
and the 3-speed automatic TH400 transmission sitting just behind it
are a mere 50 miles beyond their rebuilds - so they're at their
best - and the exhaust note emanating from the aftermarket headers
leading to a Flowmaster exhaust will surely leave an impression on
any nearby motorists - this car sounds like monster. Hotchkis
suspension components in both front and back, as well as new upper
control arms, shocks, bushings and coil springs, equip this Nova
with handling ability and ride quality that are very rare for a
classic, while disc brakes at all four corners provide dependable,
fade free stops as it takes to the road on its 17" black steel
wheels featuring chrome center caps that are wrapped with Falken
Azenis tires.
This Nova offers an unusually clean, finished presence that
combines with plenty of power to make it a truly rare find. Call
