Vehicle Description
This is an excellent example of a 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe. The VIN indicates that the car is a V8 Bel Air.
The car appears to have been restored in the past and shows extremely well. Have not been able to locate a data plate for the car. Not original color. Likely Matador Red.
Cosmetic
- Paint/Body: Straight body. Solid paint. Not original color. Likely Matador Red. Chrome in excellent condition.
- Interior: Original dash, uncut and unmolested.
- Glass/Windows: No cracks or chips.
- Undercarriage: Solid frame rails with some surface rust. Very solid original floor pan.
- Wheels/Tires: White wall tires on original wheels with matching hubcaps.
Mechanical
- Drivetrain: 283 engine starts, runs, and drives. Engine block is a period correct 1957 Chevy. Manifold is from a 1958, and the heads are from a 1960s Chevy. 3-speed manual, on the tree, shifts through all of the gears. New starter and gas tank.
- Lights/Electrical: All of the lights work. Original gauges.
- Brakes: Rebuilt master cylinder. Brakes have been serviced.
This is an iconic Chevy Bel Air with great potential. A new owner can restore this classic to original or convert to a restomod and have the best of both worlds.
