The following is an evaluation as provided by a Cerified Appraiser in the International Vehicle Appraisers Network (Nationwide Association) in February 2019. The appraiser has no financial interest (other than a $200 appraisal fee), ownership, employment nor actual or potential conflict of interest in providing this appraisal.
This 1955 Ford truck has not been street rodded. This era of Ford trucks are commonly street rodded. The body style of the 1950’s Ford “fat-fendered” trucks are very desirable due to the popularity of the body style. The interior, exterior, chassis and engine compartment are all in good usable condition. The 6 cyl engine runs well and starts easily. This truck is licensed and road worthy.
It is very difficult to find an original 6 cyl 1955 Ford truck, most 1955 Ford F100’s have been modified into street rods. The pricing can range from $5000 to well over $100,000 depending on the modifications and restoration level. This truck is best described as an amateur restoration showing wear, that runs and drives. The 6 cyl engine and level of restoration quality this truck as being in 3- or 4+ condition. I grade this truck as being in good to very good condition.
Overall the entire body is in very good condition. The exterior of this truck has been repainted at least one time. The paint appears to be an older repaint done by an amateur restorer. The body shows signs of body filler in the lower front fenders and front doors but does not appear to be overly thick. The sheet metal doesn’t show any rust through. The chrome emblems and trim appear in good condition.
The interior of this truck looks good. The bench seat upholstery is in good condition, it does show some wear on the driver’s side piping. The headliner appears original and shows average wear for the age of the truck. The dash and gauges appear in very good condition. The glass appears original and is clean and free of any major defects. The rubber floor mat appears in good condition. Inside the bed the wood floor is in very good condition. Overall the entire interior appears in good condition.
The chassis of this truck was not restored. It shows light surface rust, dirt and oil from normal use and age. The wheels and radial tires are in very good condition. The tires show very little wear. The rear bumper is fabricated steel and features a trailer hitch. Underneath the rear bumper resides an electrical plug for trailer towing. Overall the entire chassis is in good condition for an unrestored vehicle.
Overall, the engine compartment is in good condition. The firewall has been painted green and matches the exterior of the truck. The engine shows flaking paint, light oil and dust from normal use. The wiring and hoses appear in good condition. The inner fenders and firewall appear free of any rust issues.
