Vehicle Description
With its numbers-matching V8, low mileage, and great features, this
1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 knows how to be a striking classic. And
the superb documentation backs it all up, right down to the color
combo.
This is a great year to own a Camaro. The second-generation car got
its best styling update ever with nicely integrated bumpers, a
sleek rear panel, and a mean blacked-out front for Z/28s. That's
why someone took the time to keep this nicely preserved and
documented. It includes all the best Z/28 elements, including the
long hood scoop, wraparound chin spoiler, slotted fender vents, and
full-width spoiler. It all looks quite sporty thanks to good
sheetmetal and good care to what's believed to be mostly original
Carmine Red paint. And as a true Z-car of this era, you even get a
full stripe package that highlights all the best Z/28 elements all
around the car. In fact, this one is correct, right down to the
optional 15-inch aluminum wheels (and we even have the window
sticker to prove it!) You might notice these classic turbine-style
alloys have some extra flair, and that's from getting them chromed.
It adds distinction without taking away from a very correct
classic.
This car has averaged less than 1,400 miles annually, and so low
mileage means little seat time. That's why the red bucket seats
look so nice. In fact, with the full red presentation on the inside
coordinating so well with the exterior, this is one of those
classic coupes that will have people talking. But more than just
impressing onlookers, you're going to love this for how comfortable
it is to drive. The corded sport steering wheel is special to these
Camaros; the wraparound full gauge dashboard gives this Z a
performance feel; and you'll love resting your right arm between
the center console and perfect-sized shifter. Plus, you have all
the right options like power windows, power locks, tilt wheel, rear
defrost, cruise control, and factory air conditioning. Plus,
there's a retro-style AM/FM radio with aux input for your iPod, so
you get to have a modern stereo that still fits with your very
vintage atmosphere.
Under the hood is Chevy's stout 350 cubic-inch V8, and on a car
that has been this authentic so far, you'll be happy to know this
is the original motor, too. Survivor people will love the authentic
level of detail, right down to the factory decals. There has been
good maintenance in this car, and there's even a spreadsheet
documenting recent investments. So it should be no surprise that
this one fires up nicely and runs smoothly. The V8 inhales deeply
through a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, and makes a
nice sound out of the H-pipe dual exhaust. These motors were known
for their torque, which makes them lively from the stoplights.
Plus, this Z-car has a ton of great driving features, including a
Positraction rear end and sway bars front & rear. There's also
power steering, front disc brakes, and the original three-speed
automatic transmission.
The sale comes complete with a binder full of the right paperwork.
This includes the original window sticker, factory buildsheet, bill
of sale, warranty card, owner's manual, and service manuals. There
are even extras like the original radio and a car cover. It all
goes to show that this is that highly authentic Camaro that's been
treated correctly to keep it a terrific vintage cruiser. That makes
it a total package classic that's ready to run right now. Call
