The flathead Ford is forever one of the most significant production American cars of the 20th century. Ford introduced the Flathead V8 in 1932 instantly becoming a hit with the public as it was a quality car with a lot of power for a fraction of the price of a big expensive car such as a Pierce Arrow or Packard. The Flathead V8 was such a great design that it remained in Ford cars, with minor changes along the way, until 1953 when the overhead valve V8 was introduced. Along with slight changes to the engine, cosmetic design changes of the cars changed drastically from year to year. After WWII, Ford gave his cars a major facelift in 1946 becoming one of the most recognizable flathead ford designs.
This 1947 Ford convertible is a wonderful example having been well cared for by its last owner for many years. The restoration of this car was very well executed. Cosmetically it is in great condition with paint and brightwork showing beautifully and the upholstery and top also well restored. The engine and transmission run and drive very well with a lot of power and the transmission shifts as it should. Overall this is a very nice restored example of a 1947 Ford convertible with the famous Flathead V8.
Note* Power top is not in working condition, but it goes up and down manually very easily.
