Vehicle Description
Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's
Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful
1969 Z28 Camaro. The description for this car from Mecum Auctions
was written as follows in 2009- Numbers Matching, 17,600 documented
miles, original interior, rosewood steering wheel, console with
gauges, Rare Code 10 Black Paint, Original Tires Replaced by
Original Owner because of dry rot, block #3970010, head #3927186,
12 Bolt with 4:10 gears, power steering, power brakes, and
chambered exhaust. We concur with the vast majority of that
description. This is a very original, one repaint and very rare
FACTORY BLACK Z28! The miles on the title we have state original
and correct with mileage in the 18K range. The interior is
extremely nice and original, the paint, we believe one repaint, is
very nice. The chrome, engine compartment and the balance of the
car is very, very nice. This car sounds, runs and drives just as
you would expect a low mileage, well cared for car to drive. Here
are some observations on the car as we see them. The transmission
is correctly stamped and is numbers matching. The rear end is
correctly stamped for 4:10 gears. The engine is the correct casting
code and has a DZ stamp and date designation on the engine pad. The
area around the oil filter is not stamped with a vin and the date
code on the block is illegible. We only know one way to go when we
describe a car here and that is to list it as we see it.Now let's
talk about rare. Original trim tag with the X33, D80 Z28
designation is present and NEVER MESSED WITH. The code 10 Black
Paint with Hounds tooth interior makes this one rare dog. The fact
that this is a real, Black Z28 means that is most likely one of
very few REAL black cars. Let's do some math- there were 20,302
Z28's produced in 1969. Pretty rare to start. According to the
Camaro Research Group 2% of Camaro production was Black. So, 20,302
x 2% gets us a whopping 406 Black Z28's in 1969. How many survived?
How many got wrecked? How many today have low mileage and are rock
solid with original floors and on and on?You decide what's
important- want a green one with a green interior with a restamped
engine with a crappy history and Chinese metal? Those are certainly
out there and available. Want a real, honest car in the best color
available- this one may just be the one for you.Drive it, show it,
keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the
choice is yours once you make it yours. We stand behind our thoughts
on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the
car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition we will
gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.00- this offer
had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't
paid the money yet.... We pride ourselves on having good cars and
representing them properly.Additional pictures and video are
