Of the first generation of exotic cars, the most reliable and most usable, and the one I had a poster of on my wall while in high school, was the Porsche 930 Turbo. It was the car I most wanted and was to me the ultimate. It was a model derived from Porsche’s racing cars […]
California’s Singer Vehicle Design is back with another one of its bespoke creations, this time with the iconic Porsche 911 Targa as its inspiration. The car is called the 911 Honor Roll Commission, presumably with the “Roll” here a reference to the rollover bar, and it recently visited Jay Leno at his famous garage in Burbank, California. […]
The Revs Institute (nee Collier Collection) recently reunited racer Gerard Larrousse with the 1967 Porsche 911R that he drove to victory in both the Tour de France and the Tour de Corse in 1969. Larrousse, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, competed in sports car racing, rallying and Formula One during his career. He also […]
The Porsche 911 Targa with its integral roll bar was as much a product of necessity as creativity. This year, the GT2 celebrates 25 years of terrorizing supercars (and some of its own drivers), so Porsche offered a retrospective. Launched in 1995, the GT2 was originally conceived as a racing homologation special for the GT2 class, […]

The final car produced from Porsche’s seventh generation of 911 sports cars is a special 2019 […]
Ordering stuff online has become a go-to activity for car people cooped up at home by pandemic fears. RM Sotheby’s has announced another opportunity for internet activity that benefits a United Way fund helping people impacted by COVID-19. On Wednesday, RM Sotheby’s opens bidding on its Online Only platform for the final production example of […]
In 1978, Porsche updated and upgraded its 911S with a 3.0-liter engine that matched the displacement, albeit not the power, of its former Turbo Carrera model. Voila! The 911S became the 911SC, which was available as a coupe or with a Targa top. In 1983, its final year of production, the car was available as […]
