Vehicle Description
1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz
The Eldorado also refers to El Dorado, the mythical South American
"Lost City of Gold" that fascinated Spanish explorers. This was the
second to last year of the 8th edition of the Cadillac Eldorado.
Powered by a fuel injected 4.1-liter V8 coupled to a 4-speed
automatic transmission with electronic overdrive provided power, as
well as economy. Luxury was no longer defined by sheer size, but
comfort, drive-ability, and meeting the EPA emission standards.
Cadillac Sable Black with stainless steel roof, and Sable Black
landau top, envelope this nice edition of this 1984 Biarritz.
Exterior
This meticulously cared for car displays a good exterior, showing
some minor faults, but overall very straight and good gaps. The
Biarritz edition features a brushed stainless-steel roof covering
the front passenger compartment... A styling cue taken from the
1957/58 Eldorado Brougham. Looking at the rear half of the roof is
covered with a Sable Black heavily padded landau vinyl top,
accented with "opera" lights. An Interior matching red pin stripe
runs from bow to stern adding a nice accent of color. Chrome and
brite work are in good corrosion free condition, and they couple
nicely with Cadillac chrome spoked wheel covers add to the overall
"bling" of the vehicle.
Interior
The interior features "pillowed" style "tufted" leather seating in
wonderful red finish. Cadillac embossed logos show at the top of
each seat, given we see a split front bench and a spacious back
bench. All seating shows very slight wear for age. Dash and
instrumentation are original, and no chips or cracks are evident on
the plentiful veneered dash. Some digital displays are noted along
with the usual analog. The matching red steering wheel is in good
condition, and adjustable up and down. Headliner is free of any
blemishes, and in good condition with no fading or tears. The car
is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power driver seat,
digital climate control, cruise control, power windows, power
mirrors, and an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player. The plush red
carpeting throughout, is generally clean and shows some staining.
All power options are operational. A shout out to the trunk which
is covered in plush red carpeting material and barely has a mark on
it!
Drivetrain
A 4.1-liter V8 powers fed by digital fuel injection powers a
4-speed plus electronic overdrive transmission, that offers
accelerating power as well as maintaining fuel efficiency on long
trips.
Undercarriage
An underside view shows drivetrain to have some minor leaking and a
few signs of surface rusting. Otherwise the frame and floorpans/toe
boards are structurally sound.
A good looker, a good runner, and a luxurious interior, what more
could you ask for...alright it will not be free!
