1957 Chrysler Imperial South Hampton in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Vehicle Description

The price has been reduced to less than half of the restoration cost , arguably one of the best ,a piece of art..

The "Forward Look"

"We will do fins until someone shows me something better", that was the motto behind Mr. Virgil Max Exner Andersen, a hall of fame inductee, a brilliant designer, creator of the historic "Forward Look" program ahead of Chrysler Corporation during the best and arguably the most glamorous years of American Automobile Industry.

For the average American middle class family the so called "American Dream" was real, the gasoline was at 23 cents a gallon, the TV sets and other conveniences would changed forever the way of life .Throughout the history just a handful of automobiles cause such impact and sparkle so much attention as the 1957 Chrysler cars line up, at the top of line it was the Imperial, considered  by many the most beautiful car of the decade ,leading the iconic "Fin Tail" era.

A bit about this car and its restoration

For this restoration I had to allocate resources in  way that I could make it possible,  for the economic point of view this restoration cost  ended up to exceed substantially the actual market value  for this car, sure I could   have restore my Porsche 911 with half of the time and one third of the cost but  I had a point to prove it, I guess in some simpler way, I made a bit of " America Great Again". Every single mechanical and electrical system or unit has been overhauled or restored, over 20K spent on chrome plating and stainless steel polishing alone, the interior was replicated utilizing Ralph Lauren style fabric and the high end Vibrance Collection  system from PPG was the choice for painting the perfect straight and align body .

The 1957 Imperial brought a lot a great new features to the automobile industry, for instance it was the first production car equipped with curved side window glasses, the hardtop model accentuate the harmonious splitted roof lines  follow  by this beautiful roof ceiling headlining complementing this absolutely  refined and fashionable interior design.

I hope you will appreciate as much as I have ,during the process of this restoration, all the features and beauty of this iconic 69K miles matching numbers car, from the original Horizon Blue factory color to the over 250 pieces of chrome and trim harmoniously displayed over the entire body and interior along those special 24 Karat gold plated Crown badges ..and by the way " It's got a Hemi "  too.
