1973 Datsun 240Z with a rebuilt Engine, 4-speed manual trans. Here are notes from long time, previous owner: " I have owned this car for 20 years and it has been garaged the whole time. Body is in excellent condition with a couple of tiny bubbles in paint in the front fenders and surface rust in battery well. This car has not been a daily driver for about 15 years. I have driven it around the block one or twice a year and recently drained the tank and put new gas in it. Less than 1000 miles since comprehensive engine rebuild. Rebuild included hot tanking, cylinder honing, new pistons/rings, bearings, crank polishing/balancing, oil pump, complete timing chain kit, rebuilt 1971 240Z head ( 71 head has higher compression than 73 head, also has steel seats instead of brass). Rebuilt alternator, water pump, starter. driver. Dash has a 1 inch crack in it thats hardly noticable. Excellent find for a collector or enthusiast. Here are some additional details from the previous owner:

"I'm not the original owner but as far as I can tell, the car has never been in even a minor accident. I did have it painted years ago. Car was sanded to bare metal or original primer. Some minor dent repair done in various spots. Car was originally the competition orange color. Yellow/green paint now is matched to a factory original color. Floor pans have been restored with a procedure of grinding rust out and brush applying a anti-rust primer. Suspension strut cartridges were replaced with KYB shocks. This was many years ago but probably on have 5000 miles on them. Car overall have 170,000 miles on it with about 1000 on rebuild engine. Exhaust was replaced at time of engine rebuild with a header, Wolverine Glaspak, and resonator/muffler. The clutch was also replaced at the time of the engine rebuild. I replaced the pressure plate, clutch disk and throwout bearing. Front ball joints have been replaced. Steering is pretty tight unlike most 240z.

Front end is very stable on the freeway. Much brake work was done but again it was about 15 years ago. Front disks were turned as well as rear drums.

I just replaced the rear wheel cylinders as they didn't survive the extended garaging. The brake lines also got a good flush. Tires have good tread on them but they are old. As you can see by the pictures the original side-draft dashpot carbs are not on the car. I retrofited the carbs with the 240Z weber upgrade kit. I still have the old dashpots and linkages if you want to restore back to original. I also have the original 1973 head along with a bunch of other misc. parts. Even a spare back glass.

. I actually have the original floor carpets which are in remarkaly good condition. I also have a roll of interior carpeting ( black ) that comes with. It was meant to recut the deck carpeting and the carpets behind the seats. No stereo unit in car. In my spare parts box, I have an old 240Z factory stereo if one was eager to install it. The spare parts box also has a replica 240Z black decal that goes along the bottom door of the car. I never put it on because I comtemplated painting it back to the factory orange color again."
