Vehicle Description
This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette might just be the most interesting
affordable classic sports car you can get your hands on right now.
The interior and exterior remind you of an older survivor. But they
invested plenty in giving this incognito upgrades to a performance
crate motor, fuel injection, overdrive transmission, and modern
A/C.
White is always a timeless color, and so it looks great on a
timeless classic like the C3 Corvette. This is believed to be the
original paint, and as mentioned before, it wears its age. But if
you're a Corvette fan, you understand the priority put on
originality. Plus, this one shows off the best of its era with the
aluminum wheels, glass T-tops, and the special 25th anniversary
badge up front.
When you open the door, you get the same survivor-style
presentation, and there's something quite cool about having a
factory all-white Corvette. The leather seats, steering wheel,
carpeting, and much more give you the unmistakable feeling of
originality. But as you settle in, you start to see plenty of
improvements. The cup holders, anti-theft system, and AM/FM/HD/CD
stereo with modern USB connection are nice upgrades. Plus, T-tops
and power windows are just begging you to keep this car open to the
world, and so it's great to have the air conditioning converted to
cold-blowing R134a. And those cleanly added AutoMeter auxiliary
gauges are another sign of a key upgrade.
There are L-82 callouts on the hood, and beneath it, the motor
looks like an original V8... but really it's this car's greatest
secret. Because if you look beyond the classic dual snorkel air
topper, you start to see that this is actually a modern ZZ4
performance crate motor. More than just an engine upgrade, this has
also been given Edelbrock's E-Street fuel-injection that you can
even program with the included electronic tablet. Plus, this
enhanced V8 now exhales through headers that add even more power
while also giving nice rumble to the dual exhaust. Power steering,
four-wheel disc brakes, and a fully independent suspension make
this classic a fine handler on modern roads. And no matter if you
want this Corvette for its extra power or grand touring, the
upgrade to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive
is always welcomed.
So while the affordable price could let you take this car to the
next level, you already see how cool it is to have this much
performance disguised in quite an original package. In fact, this
even comes with great paperwork, including the original window
sticker, bill of sale, warranty card, owner's manual, dealer
invoice, service manuals, maintenance records, and build receipts.
