Vehicle Description
1992 Cadillac Brougham
Originally used for a single horse drawn enclosed carriage for 2-4
people, the "Brougham" owes its name to British statesman, Henry
Brougham. Cadillac first used the name in 1916 to designate an
enclosed 5-7 passenger sedan body style.
There is nothing better than getting into a "phat" Caddy and taking
it out for a cruise down Main Street. Even with all the high-end
European competition available today, the name Cadillac still is
associated with wealth and power. With this classic, the last year
of the Brougham, one can pile all their friends in, head out on a
road trip, and you'll be travelin' and stylin' all at the same
time!
Exterior
From the massive front V styled chromed grille, to the squared off
early 90's design mantra of square and rectangle (ie headlights,
bumpers, steel panels, roofline, trunkline, and vertical
taillights) this car shows in fair to good condition. Painted in
white, some panels are a slightly out of perfect alignment, but the
car shows a mostly rust-free exterior. Chrome and brite work are in
good condition. A stainless molding wraps around the car just above
the rocker, which shows some scuffing and marks on it. The padded
white vinyl top is in good condition with no tears or scuffs. Wire
wheel covers are all around and are wrapped by thin white side
walls.
Interior
Swing open the massive front door, and you are met with dark blue
padded leather, wood veneer and plenty of toggles and controls to
drive all the mechanicals of this Brougham. Large leather covered
seats in front and in back afford plenty of room to seat 6 adults
comfortably. Between the front bench is a large console that
doubles as a storage area and arm rest. Peering forward to the dash
you will encounter a large amount of board feet of veneer with blue
vinyl padding intertwined. A digital instrument panel works well,
as does the electronic climate control, power windows, power locks,
and cruise control.
Drivetrain
A 305ci V8 is under a massive hood, and very nice original engine
bay. Attached is a 4L60 automatic transmission.
Undercarriage
Surface rust typical of this era car is present, and a few areas of
corrosion are noted. Overall a sturdy stable underside environment
with nice floorpans and clean frame.
Early 90's design, and when folks would show status by the inch,
this nice condition Caddy is ready for a road trip. A definite
driver, it is here in the halls of Classic Auto Mall and awaiting
its prince and queen to drive it onto the sunset.
